  Why is something, anything, too "far fetched?"

  first off with the contents of this post i am not here to upset anyone, nor am i promoting any singular (or collective) idea, thought or belief.

  there have been some recent posts on the board the last couple days regarding ufo's, government coverups, etc.

  such topics always spark the debate between what can be proved, what hasn't been proved but is "realistic" and what is too "far fetched.

  He was a product of his times. Read the newspapers of the period. Remember, these are pre-telephone, pre-television, pre-soundbyte days. People wrote a good deal more.

  Very true. Pick up a copy of Hislop's "The Two Babylons". It was the writing style of the day. The so called scholarly works of that time can be hard reading to muddle through.

  Nearly Middle Aged Woman Asks: Should I watch the Sopranos?

  okay last night the sopranos got voted the best drama ever to be shown on tv.

  i have never watched a single episode, but before i commit myself to starting from season 1 and working my way through to season 6 or whatever it is up to can anyone here tell me what is good about it.

  what are its strengths?.

  religion is following orders by implicitly trusting someone or something.. science asks questions.. religion purports to answer questions.. science seeks to disprove its own conclusions.. religion seeks to reinforce its own dogma.. science is error-correction toward adjusting for realities as they unfold.. religion internalizes against reality by mocking up a substitute.. science is the most recent development of the human mind.

  technology proves science to be successful in advancing human progress.. religion disdains human progress and waits for the end.

  Noah's Ark ....How did Noah......................

  how did noah put bitumen on the underside of the ark, did he get his family to lift it up allowing him to slide under and paint this on?

  the underside being the most important face to be treated needed to be waterproof to make sure it did not allow leaks to occur, and had to stand up to extreme conditions for a whole year.

  No. How they were built is not very well know and understood. Your link provides an assumption as to the best method. There continues to be much debate on the how. None the less, this is about Noah's ark, not the pyramids. Carry on.

  The pyramids were built, no one knows how, why could the ark not be built? Mysteries all around and no answers.
